Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh student, Dylan Grace, was elected President by the Irish Second-Level Students' Union on Wednesday 4 April. The ISSU is a forum for student voices established to contribute to the advancement of second-level education in order to improve and enrich the education of each student, so that they achieve their full potential. The AGM, held at the Clocktower in the Department of Education & Skills on Marlborough Street in Dublin over the Easter holidays, was addressed by the Minister, Ruairí Quinn TD.

Delegates from second-level schools around Ireland were in attendance to witness the election of the new ten-member National Student Executive and to air their views on all of the motions and recommendations put to them throughout the day. The ISSU AGM provides an opportunity for second-level school students from around Ireland to meet and discuss issues and concerns that are important to them and their schools. Students who attended the AGM got the chance to voice their opinions, create motions during a formal parliamentary style process and nominated themselves for a position on the National Student Executive members for 2012-2013.
