New ROYAL Website Goes Live
Date: 06 Feb 2012
City of Limerick VEC today announced the launch of a brand new website promoting plans to re-develop the Athenaeum Hall/Royal Cinema site on Upper Cecil Street as a modern digital cinema and media training hub. The new website explores the huge potential the proposed project will have to regenerate the Georgian Quarter of the city and inject new life into the City Centre.
www.limerickroyal.ie will utilise multimedia to showcase the exciting possibilities for the new ROYAL through video, animated stills and a photo gallery. More of this type of content will be added as architectural plans develop. Website users can also learn about the background to the project so far and download a copy of the promotional brochure for the development.
Commenting on the launch, Paul Patton, CEO, City of Limerick VEC, said: “The website has a great look and feel which I hope will appeal to a wide audience.” He added: “This is about building a relationship with a new audience for the ROYAL through the interactive site and use of social media, while at the same time exploring the cinema’s rich history for those long time ROYAL customers who remember the cinema with such fondness.”
Dave Burns, who has been actively campaigning for a digital cinema for Limerick since 2008, also welcomed the launch of the new website. “We want people to invite us into their office or home through this site and explore the extraordinary potential the ROYAL has to regenerate the City Centre. The site will continue to evolve as plans for the ROYAL advance,” he said.
