Full Time Courses

Our Full Time Courses are aimed at those who want to return to education in order to enhance their opportunities for employment or progression to other studies. They consist of

  • Post Leaving Certificate (PLC): self-contained one and two year programmes for Adults who have completed upper second level education.
  • Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS): one or two year learning programme for adults over 21 years old, and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
  • Youthreach: a programme for unemployed young early school leavers aged between 15 and 20.
  • Communty Training Centres ( CTCs):This training centre works in partnership with Community Training Centres providing innovative training to meet the needs of early school leavers under the age of 21. Each learner is helped to identify and develop to their maximum potential and at their own pace.
  • Specialist Training Providers (STP): provide vocational training courses which target the needs of people with disabilities. They provide learner focused training and related services to individuals who require more intensive support than would be available in non-specialist training provision.
  • Local Training Initiative (LTI): programme is delivered through community based groups to provide a range of learner centred courses to assist individuals to enter or re-enter the labour market. The programme is primarily geared at 18-35 year olds experiencing exclusion and labour market disadvantage. LTIs provide vocational training opportunities; learning supports and project-based learning to assist participants achieve awards on the NFQ and to develop the capacity to progress to further training, education and work.
  • Apprenticeship: is the recognised means by which people are trained to become craftspeople in Ireland. The apprenticeship system typically consists of 3 off -the-job phases and 4 on-the-job phases. Generally the duration of the apprenticeship is four years.
